CBR TV: Bruce Timm, Alan Burnett Discuss “Green Lantern: Emerald Knights,” Dwayne McDuffie

Bruce Timm and Alan Burnett stopped by CBR TV’s Tiki Room during WonderCon to discuss “Green Lantern: Emerald Knights,” Warner Bros. latest animated feature starring Nathan Fillion. The producers explained how they pared down the featured Lanterns to a manageable number (including the sentient planet Mogo) and why the movie features Hal Jordan rather than John Stewart, Guy Gardner or Kyle Rayner.

Timm also delves into the differences between “GL: EK” and “All Star Superman” while Burnett, who wrote the bookend stories for the anthology-style movie, explained how the writing of the movie was structured.

The upcoming “Justice League: Doom” feature, based on Mark Waid and Howard Porter’s “JLA” storyline and adapted by Dwayne McDuffie, was also briefly discussed. The duo also spoke on McDuffie’s death, the massive amount of influence he had on both a personal and professional level in the animation industry.
