CBR TV @ CCI: Eliza Dushku & Andrea Romano Discuss “Batman: Year One”

Actress Eliza Dushku and Casting Director Andrea Romano boarded the CBR TV yacht at Comic-Con International: San Diego to discuss their work on the upcoming “Batman: Year One” animated film. Dushku relays the intricacies of her role as Selina Kyle/Catwoman as well as her comics reading experience having grown up the daughter of a collectible shop owner. Romano then talked about the long road to working with Dushku, the challenges of casting minors and the fun times had during ADR for action scenes.

From there, Romano goes deeper into the casting process and the responsibility she feels, especially when working on the early years of iconic characters like Batman. The pair also discussed how notes back and forth helped shape the character of Catwoman in “Year One” and the “Catwoman” short also included on the DVD.

I always look for Andrea Romanos’ name in the credits. If she’s involved with something it always seems to turn out great. She was also voice director on Ben 10 ans Avatar: the last Airbender. Both great shows.

i was really hoping Jonah would ask Andrea if it’s a conscientious choice on her part to use actors from the Whedon-verse or if it’s just happenstance. There seems to have been a lot of cross-over.
