CBR TV @ CCI: George RR Martin on “Game of Thrones,” “A Song of Ice and Fire” and More
“Game of Thrones” creator George RR Martin spoke with CBR TV about the massively popular HBO adaptation of “A Song of Ice and Fire,” the amazing response the author and his new television series received at Comic-Con International in San Diego and his overall reaction to becoming an overnight sensation after writing professionally for over four decades.
Martin also gets into his own personal history with Comic-Con from the level of a comics fan, the changing viewpoint of the world regarding “geek” culture and his one-time aspirations as a comic book writer. Avatar Press’ upcoming comic adaptation of “Fever Dream” was also discussed, as was IDW’s “Doorways,” which Martin wrote himself based on a TV pilot he once developed.
Finally, Martin gets into the challenge of finishing the “A Song of Ice and Fire” series of novels before HBO’s “Game of Thrones” can catch up to him, Peter Dinklage’s performance in the series, Dynamite and Random House’s adaptations of the series and more
