CBR TV: Olivia Talks Pin-Ups, Hugh Hefner & More

Legendary pin-up artist Olivia joined CBR TV during New York Comic-Con to promote her new book “Malibu Cheesecake.” The artist spoke about her contemporaries in the genre, from the late Dan DeCarlo to the influence Vargas had on her career.

Looking back on the time when she broke into the pin-up industry, Olivia related the difficulty in breaking in due to being a woman and coming from a fine art background and her first work illustrating explicit pornography which she claims is “too raunchy” to collect and publish today.

Olivia also gets into her long-running friendship with “Playboy” publisher Hugh Hefner and her regular gig illustrating for the magazine, weekly visits to the Playboy Mansion and their working relationship.
