X-POSITION: "Extraordinary X-Men's" Lemire Plans the Fall of Kingdoms
DC Comics Co-Publishers Dan DiDio and Jim Lee made their annual pilgrimage to the CBR TV Yacht during this summer’s Comic-Con International where the DC execs dove right in to DC’s recent spate of controversies and the positive outcomes the publisher has seen in the wake of the reactions from fandom over Before Watchmen and the outing of Alan Scott. The two admitted that the strong sales debut of the various BW series actually exceeded their expectations, discussed the increase in sales of print comics in the face of the advent of same-day digital releases and the fact that digital isn’t cannibalizing print sales at all.
The pair also spoke about this weekend’s announcement of Neil Gaiman’s return to “Sandman” and the good luck they’ve had in the timing of Gaiman and artist JH Williams III tackling the miniseries as the twentieth anniversary of Vertigo nears.
Finally, Lee discusses his next major project, and while he hasn’t settled on anything post-“Justice League” just yet, he’s considered a run with Wonder Woman eventually, though not in the near future, as he might want to co-plot or write it himself.
