CBR TV @ WC12: Sam Humphries on Self-Publishing, “Ultimate Comics Ultimates”

Sam Humphries, writer of the creator-owned and self-distributed “Our Love Is Real” and “Sacrifice” and the incoming writer on Marvel’s “Ultimate Comics Ultimates” stopped by the CBR TV Tiki Room during the 2012 WonderCon. He discussed his professional journey from working with MySpace Comics to breaking in via Archaia Studios’ “Fraggle Rock” anthologies to creating and putting out his own titles to being tapped by BOOM! Studios and Marvel to develop projects with the publishers. Humphries tells the story of how “Our Love Is Real” landed him the gig co-writing “Ultimates” with Jonathan Hickman, resulting in a working relationship that has taught Humphries how to approach a book with long-term plans and how to collaborate with another writer.
